Greetings,

I would like to welcome you to our community web site.  I became the President of the single-family homeowners association as per the officer meeting held today.  My goal is to help maintain the beauty of our neighborhood and ensure that the community is able to communicate with the HOA officers effectively.   However, we still need your help in achieving these goals.

There are several opportunities to help preserve the image of the community where you purchased your home.  Without the community effort, the HOA would just enforce rules and collect fines.

Raj Drive Speed Humps Decision

The City of Durham added a 25 mph speed limit sign on Raj Drive to compliment a 24 hour Volume and Speed study.  The volume requirement of 500 - 2500 trips and speed requirement of 31+ mph were not met.

The resulting data for Raj Drive

Volume = 353 trips

Speed = 85th percentile traveled at 30.2 mph

Raj Dr failed to meet the minimum requirements for both volume and speed.

The City of Durham can perform a study only once per year where we must meet the criteria for BOTH the speed and the volume.

It is important to know that no petition was filed for Suda Drive or Rathie Drive.  I propose that we wait until the newest homes are built on Suda to finish our community before submitting a petition.  As this is not a serious issue, our community can proceed with patience for such a request.

Best Regards,

Juan
